Beaches
There are so many wonderful beaches along the Costa Calida "warm coast" most are very accessible, soft, level and child friendly, but there are some more difficult to reach coves for if you want a more solitude time.
Just 15 minutes from the resort is the Mar Menor the largest salt-water lagoon in Europe. Its salinity provides buoyancy so it is, supposedly, one of the safest places to swim in the world, it is also renowned for it’s high water temperatures which are retained well into the autumn months, combined with the crystal clear calm waters, make it ideal both for children and for the water sports enthusiast there is an extensive choice on offer here, including jet skiing, wind surfing, sailing, fishing, snorkelling, and scuba diving. The mineral-rich waters are said to have therapeutic effects and because of this the area also has a significant spa tourism industry.
You could take in the beautiful views of the Mar Menor from the extensive level promenades, perfect for cycling or a relaxing walk (with pushchairs or wheel chairs) that run along side the soft sandy beaches with numerous children’s play areas, or stop off at one of the many beach side cafes or bars for a little local hospitality and Tapas.
