Introduction

The Murcia Region is one for you to discover, it is a relatively flat area that is washed by the Mediterranean and surrounded by mountains, located on the southeast coast of La Costa Calida meaning "warm coast".

It has over 320 days of sunshine per year meaning there are more sunny days here than any where else in Spain with average temperatures of 21o and low rainfall making it the perfect location all year round.

It is a rich and diverse area and has remained relatively unspoilt, although there is still plenty of nightlife and shopping on offer.

In the Murcia region there is a great deal to do and to see, you can join in the local Festivals that take place all year round or simply wonder around the many street Markets on various days of the week.

There are lots of small intimate villages and large cities to be explored, such as the diverse city of Murcia itself which is only 15 minutes from El Valle Golf Resort (EVGR) and has a wealth of historical buildings as well as many shopping areas including two new large indoor shopping malls with lots of the well known stores.

You could always visit the historic port of Cartegena which is also good for shopping or you could enjoy a lively night life with the locals or relax at one of the many harbour side bars and restaurants watching the marine activities pass you by.

On the Murcian coast you will find the Mar Menor which is Europe’s largest inland salt water sea, separated from the Mediterranean by a narrow strip of land called the La Manga strip, here you will find a great deal of varied entertainment.

The Mar Menor is renowned for its crystal clear therapeutic waters, that has an average temperature 5o higher than the Mediterranean sea, these warm tranquil waters make it a perfect and safe place for water sports and bathing. There are many sandy Beaches along its shores as well as lively fishing ports, which combined with long level promenades offer a wide choice of shops, bars and many excellent restaurants serving all manner of cuisine.
